Elevating What Works

Ideas and Voices that Matter

We’re Chris and Ben, and we own Indigo Anchor, a management consulting firm.

With more than 35 years of management experience, we’ve been in the trenches of real-life leadership. We’ve also reviewed decades of relevant research and stay updated on new findings daily.

Fads and hyped-up shallow ideas make us yawn (and sometimes shake our fists at the sky). Much of the conventional wisdom about success is simply wrong.

This site, Elevating What Works, is a starting point for anyone who wants to get better–personally and professionally. Substack is where our community lives, so sign up there to stay in touch!

Worried we're two white guys with a podcast?

We don’t blame you. But you should stick around anyway. Here’s why:

We are Anti-Guru

Truth comes from the careful evaluation of a preponderance of evidence, not from individual social media influencers or slick-sounding “thought leaders.”

Some popular ideas range from unhelpful to dangerous. Here, we highlight ideas that work, not ideas that are simply well-marketed. We carefully vet everything we share, and when new evidence emerges, we incorporate it into our thinking.
